Bosses can be such ass holes

Not all bosses are ass holes.

I really hate employers who feel superior to their employees. After my experiences with cunt-face last year I really started to hear some horror stories about how some employers to treat their employees who are “lucky” enough to have a job. First, it is not luck. It is work and perseverance that gets a person a job. No one ever knocked at my door and offered me work. No one ever paid me to watch The Price is Right in my boxers. We get a pay check because we do the work.
My friend has a boss that tries to give “friendly advice on how to get ahead in life”. His advice is to put half of each paycheck in the bank. She makes 12 dollars and hour and is a single mom.... right. But he constantly gives her advice, like she was living like a millionaire and tossing money out on designer names. I know when he does this she feels like she has to tolerate it because he is her boss. But you know the only commentary your boss should make in how you spend your pay cheque... none.
C's boss is a piece of work. He treats the guys under him like they are a bunch of idiots and anyone could do their job. His favorite joke is “what do you say to someone with an IQ of 50? Nice weld.” Cue obligatory laughter. He also has a habit of asking in front of the other workers if one of them is retarded, leading to nice names like Short bus, and comments like “Where is your helmet?” They point to their welding helmet, “No not that one, that one.” Fucking stunning wit, huh? Amazing he is not on stage doing stand up. C just says if he wants to pay an idiot what he pays him, C will gladly play the idiot and laugh all the way to the bank.

  1. Fortunately, not ALL bosses are like this. However, enough are THIS way to make your post relevant and important! great job! Terrific graphic, man! :) BTW: I just realized I don't have you listed on the My Blogs section on my site. I need to do that now! :)

    1. True, Roger. I have had some really fantastic bosses. I guess it just makes these jokers look all the worse for how they act. I personally think it is an inferiority complex at work.

  2. The problem I think is that we are taught to think that way about our employers. Taught that they're somehow better or more important than we are, when in reality they pay us to do something, and that should be the only distinction made.

    1. It's funny Kellie, because I have never thought like that. Maybe it is because my family owns their own business and never acted like that.

  3. Thank you for you really nice comment on my blog Jamie... ;)

WOW these bosses sound like idiots... I am with you, I work to get paid, not to have anyone tell me how lucky I am to have the job... or for anyone to tell me how to spend my money. I would tell them to go to Hell... They aren't any better then I am and they should remember that :)

    1. An employer would not be paying someone else to do the job if they did not need them to run the business successfully, and should remember that.

  4. Idiot bosses like the ones you mention in this post forget that if it wasn't for those employees he wouldn't have anyone to help him run his business. It's a mutual exchange of goods and services and it only works if both parties have mutual respect for one another.

I don't let bosses humiliate me like that on any job. As soon as they start you have to nip it in the bud. Don't be afraid to express yourself in private with your employer if necessary.

Kellie, I agree with Jamie on this one. I was never taught that my employer was better than me. That is nothing but a herd mentality and I refuse to be a part of the herd.

  5. I've had a few bosses and many are this way. A previous boss always used to say to his staff 'I don't know why everyone is looking for a raise when he pays the same price we pay for bread' oh he is the owner of the company btw.

    1. To a degree I can agree that an employer has obligations and costs too, and if the business is scraping by they may not be able to afford to raise someone's salary. But for the most part, when they are pulling in a shit load more, the cost of bread is not an issue

      *Let them eat cake;)

    1. Yep, to me that is just wrong. Maybe if you are a fuck up and the nephew of the company owner you are lucky to have the job... the rest of us average Joes earn that pay every hours we are on the job.
