school
going to take a moment away from studying for my last midterm tomorrow. Biology, wish me luck. Just got off the phone with the wonderful D. Feel all stupid after I talk to him. He just makes me feel good inside. Anyway, no boyfriend this weekend. Out clubbing wiht some friends probably. One of my friends is performing in drag at a local lounge. Should be a riot. His boyfriend's first time seeing him all up in drag. He was so "I can't imagine him looking like a hot woman". No worries there, he would never pass as a woman.
Anywho, I'm off to bed to hopefully not oversleep my alarm and end up missing a mid term. wow, now that will be enough to keep me studying all night.

Wow, what a weekend
Had a GREAT time with ... okay... gonna say it... the new boy friend.
Took me to his city. Oh my fucking god... I love it.
His dorm is great. He is great. Have I mentioned he's hot. And he thinks I am the best thing in the world. I promised this would not happen. I will not fall in love. But, fuck, he makes me forget, fuck, everything. I even held out on him... okay, first time ever, and he was cool with it. "J, that makes you more worth the whole trip."
Okay, I did not hold out after that. Are you fucking kidding me? And, I think I have just become a major size queen, because, hell yeah, it matters. On the way back he took me took a nice place for dinner. Fuck, I am a little bit drunk... but very very happy.

School sucks the life out of you
First year in University sucks. And I am so fucking broke. I mean my parents paid tuition, but I had to buy my books. I hate English majors, because they can buy all their books with the amount my biology book cost. Why the hell did I choose science again? And math, my nemisis, is kicking my ass. It may be time to fess up to mom that I am falling miserably behind in math, as per usual. Aren't science and math supposed to be right brained? Well, how the hell can I be great at science and suck so hard at math.
Oh, and that hot guy and I went out last weekend. It was amazing. He is coming home next weekend, and has already asked if we could hang out, so it's good. I hate that he lives in London, but then it is probably a good thing, because I get distracted easily. Sad but true. Speaking of distractions... I'm off to the gym.

Friends rock
So my best buddy set me up with a friend of his. Oh, man, he is smoking hot and seemed really nice. We just kind of hung out with the mutual friend, but YEAH and HELL YEAH we will be getting together later in the week. He is two years older than me... and actually a brother of someone I went to school with. Hated that 'phobe, but man, have I mentioned he is hot. So out of my league.
Don't get me wrong, I know I am not like a troll or anything, but I am... average. Average ehight, a bit skinny, and kind of boring. I have always been a bit of a nerd (Hello, I am blogging FFS). Guys that look like football players and models are not generally attracted to guys like me. I find they either like guys like themselves or twinks.
This guy is going ot be a pharmacist, so pretty smart too. I think it highly unfair that he gets to be smart and look like that. But then, I am getting the benefit so don't hear me bitch too loudly.
Oh, and on another track...
Guess who is going to be a big brother again? Yours truly.

Oh ho, back again
Why, J, why you wonder, has there been such a large gap in blogging. I had a boyfrined. So surely you would not just ignore a blog for a boy. I'm nineteen. Nuff said.
Soooo, had a really wonderful ( I thought) boyfriend. He is going halfway across the country to go to school. Well, dumps me. Life kinds sucks in that regard.
Went bowling today with my mom, bro and a friend of his. So at the alley I see this guy that I know. yes, KNOW know. And he comes over to say hi... in front of my MOM for god's sake. My mom is cool... but, haha, funny enough really into gay guys. How hysterical is that? I swear to god I could feel her checking him out. Ewww, my mom for fuck's sake. And I guy I... well, I'm sure you know what gay guys do together.
Anyway, big plans for the weekend. An old buddy coming into town. No, not like that you pervs. Just a very straight friend. First guy I came out to, if that tells you how close we are.

Coming out
Well, I had decided ot come out. Now I have literally heard dozens of stories of coming out. The sad, the violent, the hopeful, even the funny. Mine was none of the above.
I practiced all day... My mom called me off sick when she saw my pale face that morning and banished me to my room for a rest. She firmly believes that sleep cures all ills. So, I cowardly took the day ot practice what I would say, and thought of all the senarios I have heard about on the internet happening. I even had a ridiculous version of being punched in the face by my dad, though in my entire life I have never even been yelled at by either of my parents. It left me a nervous wreck.
I waited until after my little brother was in bed and went into the living room where Dad was channel surfing and Mom reading a book. "Uh, can I talk to you for a second?"
My parents never said no to a talk. Instantly the tv was muted and Mom turned her book down ot keep her page. Two sets of eyes waiting patiently, and Mom noticed my nervousness. "Oh, God, Jamie, you aren't failing math again, are you?" My mother, the mathematicla genius has never understood my inability with numbers. I spent months of each year being tutored by her at the diningroom table.
I bit my lip, almost opting for the easy out. "Well, yeah, but that is not what I need ot talk to you about," I admitting, and I saw my mom lock her hand on my dad's arm, suddenly scared of something that would make flunking math not important. "Well, the thing is... I just..." I realized I was scaring the shit out of both of them. "I think I am gay."
My mom sagged against the cushions. "Jesus Christ, Jamie, don't scare me like that again. I thought you were going ot tell me you knocked up some girl or something." she put a hand to her chest. "What is this, give your mother a heart attack day?"
I didn;t think she was taking me seriously. "Mom, I'm serious. I'm gay."
My dad gave me a thoughtful look. "Did something happen to make you think this, James?" he asked. Oh, god, did he think I was going around molesting boys?
My voice small I shoved my hands in my pockets. "No, I just know what I am, and um, am not attracted to."
"So there were no actions leading up to this discovery," I realized then my dad had been worried that I had been touched by some pervert who made me question my sexuality. I shook my head. The he relaxed. "O-kay. So, what now? Do you have a boyfriend or something?"
"No," I denied. Then I shrugged. "But there is a boy I like... he is into guys..."
Mom rolled her eyes. "And so the teenage dating whirlwind begins," she held her arms up for me to give her a hug, holding on a little longer than she usually did. "Just remember, when I hate your boyfriends it is not because they are boys, it's because no one will ever be good enough for you."
My dad came down to my room later and told me he was proud that I believed in them enough to tell them and handed me several boxes of condoms and made me promise to always use a condom, and never the freebees at clinics or cheap ones. That when I ran out ot let him know, and he would buy me more. It is an arrangement we still have, yeah, even at 19 I go to dad for condoms.
So that was it. As promised. Not sad, violent or hopeful, or even funny. Uneventful. Only in my house can you come out of the closet and people act as if you were saying you preferred blue t-shirts to black. I am sure one day when I share this story with other gay males who have gone through this they will tell me how lucky I was. How blessed with understanding. To me... I will always have the most boring coming out story ever.

An introduction
My name is Jamie and I am nineteen. Actually, it is James, but no one has called me that since I was a baby. My mother had always loved the name James and had no intention of ever letting me go by Jamie or Jimmy or Jim. No, no, no... In early film has my mom correcting her mother when she dared to call me Jamie. "It is James, mother, not Jamie, James."
So what could have ever happened to change that vehement line with regards to my name, you ask. Well about thirty-six seconds or so after my birth my mom realized what a waste of fresh air my father was. Does that sound harsh? And no, my mother has never said that, but, well, that is my characterization. I look like him, otherwise I would wish with all my might that my paternity could be under debate. No such luck. Anyway, I was about a year and a half when mom met my step dad, James. Well, the two James became a bit of a hassle so I got Jamie as a result, although my step dad (hereafter to be referred to as Dad, cause truth is, I feel sick calling him anything less than the father who has guided me throughout my life and has always been a steadfast support) he still calls me James, but he is the only one. I don't like the name Jamie, makes me sound like a twelve year old, but the truth is, if anyone called out James I would look over my shoulder for my Dad, so Jamie it is.
My house is a little different than those of my friends. My mom was one of those moms that everyone always came over to my house to hang because she never worried about noise or messes. She introduced my friends to AC/DC and the Beatles. She was not the cool mom... she wasn't the type of mom where anything goes. For example; my friend Charlie, when he expressed an interest in smoking pot his mom blazed up a doob with him. I mentioned an interest in pot and my mom told me she would beat me with a large stick if she ever caught me with anything like that. BUT when I turned 17 and got my license we signed a contract that if I was ever to drink with the car I could call my parents to get picked up without punishment or reprimand. Twice I have called in on this deal, and truly nothing more was said than at least I have the common sense not to drink and drive.
My mom has this thing about honesty. It was ingrained into me in the cradle that to lie is the worst thing ever. It shows a lack of moral fibre and a lack of trust the familial unit. Anyway, I was about fourteen when I realized I had been lying. Get me, Jamie, the great kid. Don't get me wrong, I was not perfect. My room was a mess unless forced to pick up my laundry on threat of not going anywhere until it was done, my math grades were always threatening towards failure, and I had the devil's own temper when it comes to anyone invading my privacy. But over all I was used to being told at least three times a week that I was a "great kid". But then I realized I had them all fooled, even myself. It was one day I caught myself actually looking at a boy on the city bus and realized that he was very handsome. He had these really incredible lips that looked like they would be soft... Boing! Instant boner. My jaw sagged a bit at the realization that i just popped wood at the wonder of what a boys lips would feel like, presumably on mine. I was one of them... those boys... queer.
Here all along my parents thought they were raising this great kid, and I was turning queer. Of course turning from what, came the question, because I certainly never really thought about girls before. I was convinced that was just a matter of time before I became what the rest of my friends had become within the last year, hormone victims of the highest order. But now I knew, and it was like I had always known, but never really knew, if you know what I mean. I mean, I have talked to my straight friends about this, so I know I am not talking out of my ass... You straight folk, you know you are straight long before the sexual part of your brain kicks in. You know what is attractive, even if you think the opposite sex is dumb and kissing is icky, somehow you know that you will end up with one of them. Well, deep down, once I acknowledged what i was I knew that some part of me had known, even if I didn't know what I knew. Anyway, I will never major in psychology so I'll let this part go.
I was scared shit-less. Terrified of my dad's reaction. After all, he took on yours truly at an early age believing me to be a normal kid. But, no, I invaded his life under false pretenses. And what of my little brother. Would they think I would do something to him? Oh, i had fits of paranoia, self-pity, self-loathing and just plain depression in the months that followed my discovery. But when you have been raised with truth as the moral marker in life, you can't just bottle things like this in. I imagined they saw inside and were disgusted. In reality they probably wrote off my moodiness as the start of the teenage angst, which was exactly what it was, just not the normal kind by my definition. I finally just had to tell them.
