Poke him with a stick

Chris will never admit he is tired.  A night of no sleep will catch up.  He falls asleep on my couch.  Yep, we are at my place, (while the folks are away, hehehe)  because the central air is back up and running.  I can always tell when he is tired, because he gets all physical and acts... well, sweet, although I would never say that to him out loud.  He sees it somehow as a failure if he falls asleep before I do.  Like it's a contest or something.
So last night I drag him off to bed after nudging him awake.  Of course he was not really sleeping, just closing his eyes for a second.  Dude, you've been snoring for over an hour.  Why is it so hard to admit you were sleeping?  We all need sleep.  Man I can crash out on him for freaking hours and it doesn't bother me.  Why does it seem like bigger men have such egos they gotta feed?

  3. I love the title of this post Jamie! It's always, "I'm just resting my eyes while waiting for the news." or some such stuff when my hub falls sleep like that. Me, ha, if I'm tired I'm sleeping - like it or not - gotta get my Zzzzs. :)

  4. when i was a kid, all the grown-ups talked bout real stuff after i went to bed. so of course, i stayed up eavesdropping. this b.s. made me an insomniac as a tot. and to this day, i pull crap like chris does, with rare exceptions... still convinced that the fun happens AFTER i go to bed.

  5. Men. They will always be 14-year old boys with their fragile and inflated egos. I don't poke sweetie, I kick them in the arse.
Oh I have decided that audio taping the snoring to be totally hilarious. I keep it for future reference. hehe

  6. LOL, glad to see I am not alone in this. It must be an epidemic. Perhaps as you say violet, he just doesn't want to miss the good stuff. Poking with a stick may be dangerous with the ego fragile and inflated, PB, might pop like a balloon, and I kinda like that about him;)

  9. This is funny. My boyfriend does this too - he falls asleep and when I ask "were you sleeping" he denies it, even though his snoring gave away the truth! You're right about the ego part too!
